Subject: Faculty Search Nomination Request
Dear Stephen,
The Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard School
of Public Health is seeking a talented vector biologist at the
assistant/associate professor level. The successful candidate will build
and maintain an internationally recognized extramurally funded research
program, with a special emphasis on malaria. On behalf of the search
committee, I am writing to ask for your recommendations regarding
individuals who would be competitive candidates for this position.
As you will see from the attached position description, this is a
tenure-ladder position. To fill it, we are looking for a person with
extensive training and experience in vector-borne disease systems.
Candidates should possess a PhD, MD, DVM or equivalent degree and have a
record of research and intellectual leadership appropriate for a junior
faculty appointment at Harvard University.
I would appreciate learning from you the names of persons you believe would
be appropriate for the position, and forwarding to them the position
description. We are particularly interested in qualified candidates who are
women or members of a minority group.
Please contact me or my Director of Administration, Steve Heim, who is
staffing the search. Steve can be reached at
sheim@hsph.harvard.edu<mailto:sheim@hsph.harvard.edu>. I will appreciate
any help you can provide to this important enterprise.
Sincerely,
Dyann
