Faculty position: Korea Univ. Dept. of Brain & Cognitive Eng (CLOSED)

Department of Brain and Cognitive Engineering at Korea University invites applicants for two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting nationally acknowledged researches on brain engineering areas with an outstanding publication record, pursuing external funding and participating in the community services. Department of Brain and Cognitive Engineering has been newly established since September 2009 with the full support from the government and the university, aiming at being a world-wide center of brain science and engineering in next five years. There are currently eleven Korean professors and five highly-profiled foreign professors in the department with the goal of hiring five more faculty members.

The candidate should earn a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, computer science, neuroscience, or a related area. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in English. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to establish outstanding research programs for the primary focus areas, including: 1) brain-computer interfaces with invasive or noninvasive techniques; and 2) cognitive robotics focusing on integrating human cognition and robotics.
