기초과학연구원(IBS)은 우리나라의 기초과학을 대형·장기·집단 연구를 통하여 획기적으로 발전시키고자 2011년 11월에 설립된 정부지원 연구기관입니다. IBS는 수학, 물리, 화학, 생명과학, 지구과학 및 융합과학 분야에 현재까지 28개의 연구단을 구성하였습니다. 또한 금년에는 기존 연구단 형태(연구단 유형 I)와 병행하여 잠재력이 높고 우수한 젊은 과학자를 본원 공동연구단장(가칭 Chief Investigator, 이하 CI)으로 유치하여 새로운 형태의 연구단(가칭 Pioneer Research Center, 이하 PRC)을 구성(연구단 유형 II)하고자 합니다. 아울러 2018년 신규 연구단은 본원에 한하며, 최대 2개까지 선정할 계획입니다. IBS의 신규 연구단장 모집에 연구자분들의 많은 관심과 지원 바랍니다.

2018 Call for Application for IBS Research Center Directors

The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is a Korean government-funded research institute established in November 2011 with the purpose of driving forward the development of basic science in Korea through large-scale, long-term, group research. IBS has so far established 28 Research Centers in mathematics, physics, chemistry, life sciences, earth science, and interdisciplinary sciences. This year, the institute will continue to operate the existing Center system (Category I) while introducing a new Center system (tentatively named “Pioneer Research Center (PRC)”, Category II) by recruiting outstanding young scientists as a co-director (tentatively named “Chief Investigator (CI)”). This year’s selection will be limited to a maximum of two Centers that are HQ-based only. We look forward to receiving many applications from excellent scientists.
