Two postdoctoral positions are available in the Cho laboratory at the University of California, Riverside. Our research program is focused on the neural circuit and synaptic plasticity mechanisms of emotional learning and memory. Projects funded by the NIH will incorporate memory engram cell labeling, electrophysiological analysis, virus tracing, and optogenetic/chemogenetic control of neural circuits in transgenic mouse models. Please, see the following articles.

Kim WB and Cho J-H (2020) Encoding of Contextual Fear Memory in Hippocampal–Amygdala Circuit. Nature Communications, 11: 1382 (2020)

Kim WB and Cho J-H (2017) Encoding of discriminative fear memory by input-specific LTP in the amygdala. Neuron, 95: 1129-1146

We are seeking highly motivated scientists with a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical science or a related field. Experience in brain slice electrophysiology, stereotaxic surgery or two-photon microscopy is desirable. Please contact Dr. Cho at juncho@ucr.edu and include curriculum vitae.
